these may be
dark times, love
let’s meet them
with strong backs
open hearts
savoring
the moments
when the sun
glimmers out
breathe it in
store it up
energy
so that we
can go on
hand in hand
courageous
in this sad
shadowed world
About this poem: my friends and I are distressed at the recent threats to immigrants, trans people, sacred lands and more. Savoring the good things can bring us strength in times like these.
In your journal:
- write your own poem about savoring.
- Write a poem with lines of three syllables.
