As I go through my day, I watch for moments when the corners of my mouth turn up and my heart lifts. I note these moments of delight in my journal and consider their patterns here. I encourage you to be on the lookout for your Delight of the Day.
I took my whimsical attitude into the next day with me. On the paratransit bus, the driver whistled as he climbed out of the box and let down the lift. He whistled as he drove, too, commenting, “you know how it is when you have a song in your head and you can’t get it out? For me, that’s all the time.”
He asked how I was and when I replied, “pretty good,” he responded, “cool beans.” Whenever anything pleased him, as – for instance – he tied down my wheelchair, he repeated the phrase. Cool beans.
What fun! Other delights this week include:
more reading Rising Strong
chai and conversations with my husband and daughter
I took a long wheelchair ramble by the Mississippi
cool beans (see above
I enjoyed creating flyer
cool air and a sense of possibility
May you find delight in each day.
