decided to go searching
for a rainbow online
found:
raspberries
tart, shy, unassuming
orange rose
really? Seems unnatural…

wishing for a vacation
I find a parrot
and Caribbean Seas
and then
dependent as I am on

I happen upon a violet
and remember my child self
squatting in the shade
to make a bouquet
for mom
I lose myself
in the center of of violet
and life gets better
