As I go through my day, I watch for moments when the corners of my mouth turn up and my heart lifts. I note these moments of delight in my journal and consider their patterns here. I encourage you to be on the lookout for your Delight of the Day.
October is gratitude month for me. (Kind promise: I will appreciate blessings.) My daily delights also become daily gratitudes.
As I move from one promise to another, I try to find ways to remind myself of the promise of the month. This month, I am using the clock. Every time I check the time, I am inviting myself to identify three things about which I am grateful.
Right now it is 10:26 AM. I am grateful for:
- The cold medicine, which is helping my nose not to run.
- That I am in a warm place. (I could see my breath outside this morning.)
- The technology I am using, which makes writing possible, and connects me with the wider world.
The ancients had a great way of describing what I feel when I move into spacious gratitude: my cup overflows.
May you find delight each day.
