As I go through my day, I watch for moments when the corners of my mouth turn up and my heart lifts. I note these moments of delight in my journal and consider their patterns here. I encourage you to be on the lookout for your Delight of the Day.
There’s a reason all those packages say NEW! In big bright letters with starbursts behind them. We human beings like us some novelty.
New isn’t always better, but it is often inherently fun. This month I started two new volunteer gigs (and released my new e-book). Meeting new people, going to new places and doing new things brings energy and aliveness. (That’s one reason why travel vacations are so popular.)
There is some fear in the new as well. New can be an invitation to monsters to clamor about the danger in newness. As I have ventured into new territory lately, it has helped me to keep an ear cocked for monster song. Then I can take a deep breath and remember
